People are already talking about the potential release of the Microsoft Surface Pro 4, which will most likely include a number of great features.
Chinese website 36kr.com claims that the Surface Pro 4 will feature the Intel 5th generation Broadwell processor, not the Core M. The device will reportedly showcase a fanless design but include tiny holes that will adequately manage heat radiation. The holes will not be as visible compared to the Microsoft Surface Pro 3. The fanless design also eliminates noise.
Other possible specs and features
The Surface Pro 4 is expected to be thinner than the Surface Pro 3, although not lighter, 3skr.com adds, and it will also feature a 12-inch display, with a screen resolution of 1260 x 1440 with 216 ppi, similar to its predecessor. The new system font is also expected to be more aesthetic in Windows 10 in high resolution. Neowin writes that there may be other size options other than the 12-inch version.
Windows Central reports that the frame of the screen, ports, battery and kickstand are almost identical to the Surface Pro 3. This means that individuals who purchased the Docking Station for the Surface Pro 3 will find that the accessory still works for the new model. In connection to Windows Central's report, Neowin cites Microsoft's previous announcement on how the company intends to maintain compatibility among its Surface Pro accessories, including the Docking Station and Type Cover 3.
Meanwhile, the idea of running Intel Core i processors in a fanless model may seem difficult, Windows Central believes, since only Intel Core M and Intel Atom processors are able to manage heat radiation efficiently without a fan. However, experts expect that Microsoft can overcome the technical feat in time.
Aside from the possible specs listed above, GSM Arena notes that the new model might include an active stylus.
How true are the rumors?
Daniel Rubino, editor-in-chief of Windows Central, claims to have spoken to the author of the 36kr article, where the latter assured him that the source of spec information was reliable and accurate. Rubino also said that there are more details that he cannot share to the public at the moment.
Windows Central adds that Microsoft most likely have several versions of the Surface Pro 4 that are currently being tested at various configurations. The core aspects, however, may have been maintained for the final model, but the details can continue to change until the official revelation.
Contrary to previous speculations, the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 was not unveiled at the recent Microsoft BUILD 2015, according to Digital Trends. Users will have to wait longer to discover whether the Windows 10 will officially be launched on the developing device.
