Talk has it that mass production for this device started January this year. A leaked photo of the rumored laptop appears to support such reports, showing "an ultra thin design and a new iPad-style Apple logo," MacRumors said.
"Typically, MacBooks have a backlit Apple logo, but it appears the MacBook Air may instead have an embedded silver logo, much like the iPhone and the iPad," the site added. "The shift may be due to the MacBook's thinness, leading to an inability to use a standard backlit logo."
It's been speculated that the new Retina MacBook Air may be released in the middle of this year or a bit earlier, considering that Apple reportedly was able to get the new processors they needed for this new product in time for the rumored January manufacturing schedule.

It's been whispered that the Surface Pro 4 will be launched in 2 different sizes, according to Design & Trend.
"Past unsubstantiated reports alleged that a Surface Pro Mini might arrive alongside the traditional 12-inch screen size sku," the site said.
In addition, the new Microsoft tablet will reportedly sport a bigger screen, with some sources saying it will be bumped up to 12.9 and others saying that we'll be expecting a 14-inch device in a couple of months. What appears to be a common denominator is the fact that the next iteration may likely feature a bigger display than Surface Pro 3.
According to Breathecast, it's possible that the new Surface Pro may be released middle of this year, like the MacBook Air Retina, or early in 2016.
