The open multiplayer beta version of "Battlefield: Hardline" will be available beginning February 3 up to February 8.

EA announced on January 29 on Battlefield.com that the open beta will provide players a glimpse of some things that will come out in the official game when it launches on March 17. The game was developed by Visceral Games and is a "fresh new take" on the war-based Battlefield game series. The latest version is a first person shooter revolving around the experiences of criminal-fighting cops. There will be single player campaigns based on crime dramas on TV, as well as multiplayer modes.

The trailer for "Battlefield: Hardline" was presented by Battlefield on YouTube, showing actual game scenes and cinematics.

RockPaperShotgun reported that the beta will most likely have 10 to11 GB of downloadable content. Preloading will most likely be available at 10 a.m. ST on February 2. Gamers with "Battlefield 4" will also get the chance to earn a special Hardline dog tag to wear in "Battlefield 4" if they play the beta version. After playing the beta, the dog tag will be unlocked in the next patch of "BF4".

Battlefield.com also reported that the open beta will let gamers try three different multiplayer maps and modes. The first mode is the "Hotwire Mode", featuring high-speed chases as criminals attempt to steal several marked cars. The cops will try to stop the villains and repossess the vehicles. There will also be two maps in the beta namely "Downtown" and "Dust Bowl". To accomplish "Hotwire", players have to work as a team and drive with precision.

The second mode is "Conquest Mode", where up to 64 players can battle. The "Dust Bowl" map will also be available on "Conquest". The third mode is "Heist Mode", where criminals will attempt to enter a bank vault. The cops will also try to stop them from breaking in and stealing all the cash. Players can choose whether they take on the role of the cops or the criminals.

Furthermore, there will also be a "Hacker Mode", where hackers can control security cameras to guide their team on the attack or defense. "Hacker Mode" will be available on all beta modes.

There is no need to register since it is an open beta. The beta will be playable on the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC. The availability of the beta version might have varying times depending on the platform and region.
