The International Business Times reported that users of Samsung's current flagship device Galaxy S5 in the US, Latin America, and even India should gear up as the much awaited Android L 5.0 Lollipop update will finally arrive via over-the-air (OTA) "in a few weeks."

Sam Mobile earlier predicted that the new Lollipop update might now probably be on the way toward Galaxy S5 users since the update has already been received by the same users in other countries such as Poland, South Korea, several other European nations, and most recently those in Malaysia and Russia.

It is believed that the update will finally arrive to Galaxy S5 and Note 4 this month, though it was not stated when exactly. An alleged Samsung employee named "SamsungRep2015" revealed on Reddit that Samsung stores have already been notified via an email to prepare their devices for the arrival of the Lollipop update. The said email stated that starting January 2015, Samsung Android devices will start receiving Lollipop OS updates. It also noted the process or procedure of the roll out.

It noted that the update will first roll out on the Galaxy S5 and will be followed by Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Edge. The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and the Samsung Galaxy S4, on the other hand, will be included on the "next wave" of Samsung devices getting the update. This will then be followed by Samsung tablets. However, no specific dates were included in the said email. The email somehow agrees with an earlier report that cited the official Samsung Finnish website which revealed that Samsung Galaxy S4, Galaxy Alpha, Galaxy S5 Mini, Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy Note 2, and Galaxy Note 2 4G will definitely get the new Lollipop update.

As for the dates, Gospel Herald says that the Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge are expected to get the update by the end of the month. It also speculates that it will skip the 5.0 version and goes straight to the 5.0.1 update. Meanwhile, older Samsung devices Galaxy S 4, Galaxy Note 3, and Galaxy S3 are seen to get the update in the following month. IB Times says that the US roll out will probably be followed by the update's launch in other countries. Samsung has yet to confirm these rumors.
