The iPhone 5 is set to debut this morning in San Francisco at a live press conference, but live streaming of the event might be difficult for fans of the highly anticipated smartphone.

When Samsung debuted the Galaxy Note 2 in August, they provided a live streaming for free and for all to see from the IFA 2012 in Berlin, Germany, but Apple has different plans.

Apple might have an exclusive webcast similar to 2010 when only Apple device holders will be able to see the live webcast but only if they have eligible devices and software.

The Huffington Post reported that Apple users could have watched live webcast of the press conference using an "internally-developed HTTP Live Streaming Protocol" and only viewable on a Mac's Safari running on at least with the OS X version 10.6 (Snow Leopard) and the iOS 3.0 or higher on iPhones and iPod Touch.

As ReadWriteWeb noted, "The HTTP live streaming protocol is a feature of the latest version of Apple's multimedia player and framework, QuickTime X. The new protocol lets users stream audio and video over HTTP. This makes things easier for broadcasters, who can use a standard Web server instead of a special media server to stream in almost-real time."

It is unsure if the same effort will be provided this time around for the iPhone 5 but if so Apple customers with the eligible devices will be able to see the live press conference on Apple.com.

But what if you don't have an Apple device to watch the live show?

Apple Keynotes have stated they will present the conference, live.

If Apple Keynotes is unable to transmit, the back up is from TWiT.tv. They are scheduled to feature a panel discussing the events taking place in San Francisco. However, they do note that “Since Apple doesn’t stream its events,” they will have a puppeteer reenacting Apple’s presentation with a Tim Cook puppet, which is Apple’s CEO.

Latinos Post will be updating throughout the day for the official specs and recap of the live press conference of the iPhone 5.

The rumored features for the iPhone 5 have so far included a 4-inch Retina Display screen, 1GB RAM, an eight-megapixel rear-facing camera, a two-megapixel front-facing camera, running on the latest operating system iOS 6, battery capacity of 1140mAh with its life going eight hours for 3G users and 14 hours for 2G users, A5X dual-core processor, and an improved Siri voice assistant that will understand other languages such as Japanese.
