Sony Computer Entertainment America president Jack Tretton is pretty confident that the PlayStation 4 will be the top dog of the next-gen consoles. In an interview with CNN Money, Tretton revealed that he believes his company's strategy is much stronger than rival Microsoft's, and he feels as though Sony is in a stronger place right now:

"I firmly believe we had the right business model and the right vision for Playstation 4. The validation of that was from the analyst community, the press, and most importantly the consumers out there. You don't know what your competition is going to do, but we felt we had the right plan."

Tretton also spoke about the company's history, saying he feels as though Sony has the best chance of taking advantage of the release window with the Playstation 4 priced lower than the Xbox One:

"We're in a much better position. There are a couple of key factors: We came to market later than what proved to be a formidable competitor in the Xbox 360 -- that won't happen this time around. We came to market at $599 -- that's obviously not going to happen this time around. In spite of all that, we went on to sell 70 million units. There were a lot of lessons learned in things we did not want to repeat. I really relish the opportunity to come to market in a timely way at $399."

Sony definitely has the momentum coming out of E3, as Microsoft has focused mostly on damage control following the announcement of several unpopular used games, and online policies for the Xbox One that have since been removed. With a cheaper product on the market and a high tide of good vibes from gamers, as well as developers both large and small, the PlayStation 4 may be the console to beat when it is launched later this year.
