Fans of the Grand Theft Auto series will be able to get a new look at the next game in the series very soon. A new video for Grand Theft Auto 5 will be released July 9 at 10:00 a.m. EST, developer Rockstar has confirmed on Twitter.

The new Grand Theft Auto 5 trailer may deviate a bit from the last gameplay trailer, focussing more on showing the game's three different characters in the open world of Los Santos, rather than focusing on the missions players will be able to take on. Which makes sense; exploration is a critical part of the series, but so far, not much has been revealed in that regard for this newest game in the series. The trailer may also show the player's ability to swap between the three playable characters at any point, which is one of the most hyped features of the game so far. A previous set of trailers also detailed the three playable characters, Michael, Trevor, and Franklin, and showed off some of their personalities and quirks.

The new trailer may also reveal more of the game's overall story, which has mostly been kept under wraps so far. While we know some details about the protagonists of the game, much of the story is still a mystery, so perhaps Rockstar will finally clue fans in on what drives the trio to undertake their adventures.

Grand Theft Auto 5 is set to be released on Sept. 17, and many PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 owners are considering the open-world crime drama the swan song for those systems, as it is the last blockbuster title to come exclusively to those systems before the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One are released. Rockstar also recently revealed that the game will require mandatory installs of part of the game for both systems, so that the game's huge world can run smoother.
