Fans of the Fallout series have eagerly waited for Bethesda to reveal any sort of information about the game; however, the company has been focused on several other projects as of late. Pete Hines, Bethesda marketing VP, spoke to Polygon about the series, and though he understands the frustration Fallout fans have expressed, he cautions them from expecting news quite so soon:

"I mean [fans] have been clammering for a Fallout game for a long time now. What people need to understand - whether it is Bethesda Game Studios, Arkane or anybody - expecting information like that in any short period of time after they moved off one project to the other is really unrealistic...We are not into annual franchises - just trying to spin out a version of our game year, after year, after year - like, we have never done that, I don't see that it is something that we are doing anytime soon. But that doesn't mean that we are going to take our time and wait six or seven years in between a game that a studio puts out. But these are big games that take a long time and folks need to understand that we have a very certain way of going about things."

Even though Bethesda Game Studios, the in-house developer responsible for the Fallout Series (with the exception of the somewhat disappointing Fallout: New Vegas) has moved to their next project, Hines is reluctant to give any possible clues as to what that could be. While it very well could be the next Fallout game, we will just have to wait until Bethesda is ready to find out anything about this project.

Fallout 3 was a major achievement for Bethesda, so the studio must be facing huge pressure to get the next game done right. Instead of going for the serialized approach of franchises like Assassin's Creed, Bethesda is allowing the team to take as much time as they need to get the game where it needs to be.
