The official Grand Theft Auto 5 box art has finally been released, showing the series' trademark grid-based artwork for the newest game. The box art includes pictures of a helicopter, a man in a gas mask, a man on a motorcycle with a gun drawn, a dog barking, a women using a mock-iPhone, someone jet skiing, a car, and several characters with guns drawn.

The artwork for the series was first teased when a mural was put up in Manhattan hinting at what the game's cover will look like earlier this week. Last week, the company also released several new screenshots from the game showing various new activities players will be able to do while playing the game, such as scuba diving (a full gallery of all of the official screenshots released by Rockstar can be found here).

Rockstar Games had recently said that they would avoid giving fans too much information about the game in the months before the game's September 17th release. However, the developer has been keeping up a trinkling stream of media and recently announced that the popular PSP games Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City and Vice City games shall be heading to the PlayStation Network this week.

Grand Theft Auto 5 is only confirmed for current generation consoles, but some have not ruled out the possibility that the game could show up at some point on the PlayStation 4 and next-gen Xbox. However, the game is being released before the next-gen consoles are expected to be ready for release, so it may be some time before that would happen, if at all. Take-Two, the publisher of the game, has also stated that the series will not become more serialized with yearly or bi-yearly releases to preserve the series quality, so if Grand Theft Auto 5 does not get ported to next-gen consoles, it may be awhile before they would get any sort of Grand Theft Auto title.
