Earlier this week Rockstar Games released some brand-new screenshots of Grand Theft Auto 5, breaking their enforced silence on new information about the game.

Fans can take comfort in looking at the many screenshots Rockstar has released on their official website. In them, we can see the different environments and activities players can partake in in Los Santos. Players will be able to explore the city proper, as well as the various areas around the city, including the marinas and shoreline around Los Santos, and the mountains and valleys in the greater metropolitan area.

Players will be able to drive around in cars and motorcycles, and even fly over the environments in helicopters and airplanes. Boats will also be available, and gamers can scuba dive and jet ski in the water environments. Gamers can go to the downtown areas and rappel down buildings, or explore the many storefronts of the game to customize their character.

As usual, Rockstar has supplied a variety of unique places players can explore, leaving it up to the player to decide what they do within them. Players will be able to cause mayhem and destruction if they wish, or they can focus on completing missions and driving the story forward.

In other Grand Theft Auto 5 news, Rockstar has been going after fake beta testing sites for Grand Theft Auto 5, and possibly bringing the game (which is only confirmed for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 so far) to the next generation of consoles.
