Fans of Grand Theft Auto 5 may have felt like they were left out in the cold when Rockstar claimed that they were remaining silent about the game because they were busy finishing the game and they did not want to spoil parts of the game for players, but now, just one day later, Rockstar has released several new screenshots from the game via the company's Newswire.

The new screenshots show a wide variety of scenes. Some show some weather and lighting effects during a thunderstorm and sunset, while others show off a character going scuba diving and parachuting out of a plane. A few new screens of slick cars are also included. Finally, in true Grand Theft Auto fashion, one picture includes a man with a gatling gun roaring to life, with a flaming car in the background. These pictures show the breathtaking power and graphics the game will have, as all the screenshots look absolutely gorgeous.

Players can expect to Grand Theft Auto 5 to come out September 17 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.  While it is rumored that the game will also appear on the next-gen consoles and possibly even on the PC in the future, nothing has been confirmed by Rockstar.

It is a testament to the games popularity that 10 new screenshots can send fans abuzz with anticipation, despite the fact that the game is almost six months away still. Indeed, fans have already begun compiling databases of characters and locations for the game based only on the trailers and screenshots released so far.

Anyone looking for early-access beta for the game should be warned that several scam beta websites have been discovered and taken down by Rockstar.  If anticipation for the game is already causing such excitement from fans, it is good for Rockstar to release even these few screenshots despite saying that updates on the game would be few, due to the hectic schedule the developers are under to complete the game on time.
