Grand Theft Auto 5 fans finally got the one bit of news they've been craving for so long - except it comes with an incredibly bitter aftertaste. Rockstar finally announced that Grand Theft Auto 5 will release on Sept. 17, after a four-month delay, and while some have questioned the motive behind it, Rockstar has fired back, saying it's simple, and that there's no conspiracy at play. 

"To those of you saying or seeing various conspiracy theories about there being some other ulterior motive for this delay, rest assured that they're all nonsense - literally the only reason we've delayed the release is because we want the game to be as good as it needs to be," Rockstar wrote on its website. 

It's not too hard to understand why an open world game as big as Grand Theft Auto 5 (it is, in fact, Rockstar's biggest world to date) might need a bit more time to be polished up. The world of Los Santos sprawls from the skies to the seas, and Rockstar has promised there'll be more minigames and distractions than ever before. Given the amount of interaction between gameplay elements, and the debut of three main protagonists instead of the usual one, Rockstar has its hands full, and a product with bugs would certainly garner more negative publicity than a delay. 

As of now, Rockstar has only officially announced Grand Theft Auto 5 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles. This has angered many PC gamers, but there is a hint that Rockstar is working on porting the game over to the PC - a LinkedIn profile for a Rockstar employee states that he is working on Grand Theft Auto 5 cutscene animation for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.
