The Xperia Z1 smartphone from Sony is one of the most powerful smartphones available on the market currently, but so far no major service providers have offered the smartphone as part of a service plan. Now, it looks as though the device will be offered by T-Mobile according to a new leak from EVleaks that shows the smartphone with the company's logo attached.
As this is a unofficial photo leak and the service provider has yet to comment if and when they will start to offer the smartphone to users, it is unclear when T-Mobile will offer the device. The device is being offered by various electronic outlets such as Newegg and Negri Electronics for over $700, so T-Mobile may offer the device for a discounted rate so long as users commit to a service plan.
Besides the T-Mobile branding found on the device (and any vaporware the company puts on the device if and when they begin to offer the Xperia Z1) it looks as though the Sony smartphone will remain the same as the unlocked version of the device. The Sony Xperia Z1 will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core chipset, making the smartphone one of the more powerful on the market. The display for the smartphone is 5 inches of Full HD goodness.
The 20.7-megapixel camera for the Xperia Z1 is one of the highlights of the smartphone, making it one of the better camera phones, and T-Mobile users should jump at the chance to purchase the device for this specs and the powerful camera.
While Sony is ramping up the North American launch of the Xperia Z1, the company is preparing the launch of the Xperia Z1f, aka the Z1 Mini, in Japan. The mini version of the original Xperia Z1 will have a slightly smaller display at 4.3 inches, but much of the specs for the original Xperia Z1 remain in the Xperia Z1f. It is unclear if the Xperia Z1f will make it to North America, but considering that the T-Mobile photo leak is the first solid lead for the Xperia Z1 attached to a service provider, it is doubtful the Xperia Z1f will come to North America.
