Brace yourselves, Sony Xperia Z4 is coming.
While Sony Xperia Z3 has just started hitting the markets, Android Origin said in an exclusive story that Sony has been working hard to release the new flagship device -- Xperia Z4 -- by early 2015. Android Origin said that they got the information from "trusted sources" but did not identify any of them. Android Origin said their sources are also the ones who leaked the information about the Xperia Z3. The Xperia Z4 is expected to make its debut in March at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain.
According to Christian Today which also cited Android Origin as its main source, the Sony Xperia Z4 will have a 5.5-inch screen display and make use of a Quad HD 2560 x 1440 resolution. Android Origin said the Xperia Z4 will look like the Xperia Z3. It will also have the "same omni-balance design language" the Xperia Z3 has. Android Origin said citing its "trusted sources" that the Xperia Z4 will have "a dedicated amp, with a strong stress on audio quality."
The device is also said to have a "Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor with chipset clocked at 2.8GHz," Android Origin said. It is also said to have a RAM of 4 GB. It will also be equipped with the new Adreno 430 GPU, Android Origin said.
Android Origin also said that the new Xperia Z4 will now be upgraded to a 32GB internal storage. Earlier Xperia releases -- from Xperia T to Xperia Z3 -- all just had 16 GB.
Another first that is being eyed in the Xperia Z4 is the LTE Cat.6 connectivity. Aside from that, Xperia Z4 will also have a Bluetooth 4.1.
Also, Android Origin revealed that there will be changes in Xperia Z4's camera. Although it will bear the same resolution of IMX220 20.7MP sensor, Xperia Z4 will be enhanced with curved Exmor RS CMOS sensor. The Z-series phones are known for their 20.7MP cameras.
Android Origin also revealed that the rumored Xperia Z3X is not real as Sony has now just focused on crafting the Xperia Z4.
Aside from that, Android Origin also divulged that Sony will only release one flagship for 2015 -- the Xperia Z4. No more, no less. It reported that Sony is now actually pondering on the idea of launching just one flagship device every year. Sony has been known for its "bi-annual flagships" since the release of the Xperia Z and Xperia Z1.
Android Origin noted that the decision to just release one flagship device for the year may be because "huge advancements" are really hard to make within six months. Also, a "saturation point" might already have been reached by the flagship devices, it added.
