Xperia M Dual News: Price for Dual Sim Phone, Release Date Revealed

While Sony announced the modest Xperia M would have two different models, one with a single SIM card slot and another with two, the company only offered the single SIM version of the device—until now. Sony looks to be currently preparing the dual SIM version of the Xperia M for launch by the end of September, according to a tweet from Sony Mobile Russia, translated by the Xperia Blog. 

Sony Mobile Russia's tweet also claimed that the smartphone will cost 10,990 Roubles, or about $346.

While it is unclear exactly when the Xperia M Dual will launch in other countries, it will most likely hit other regions such as India at the beginning of October before eventually coming to North America.

The specs for the Sony Xperia M Dual are the same as the original Xperia M, with the exception of the two SIM card slots that are the hallmark of the Xperia M Dual. The phone will also have a microSD card slot as well as the dual SIM card slots. The Xperia M Dual has a smaller display than many phones, coming in at 4 inches with FWVGA resolution.

For the device's chipset, the Xperia M Dual will have a Snapdragon S4 Plus running at 1GHz, and 1GB of RAM to support the processor. The internal memory of the device will be set at 4GB of storage.

The Xperia M Dual will have a fairly impressive 5-megapixel rear-facing camera that users can play around with. Finally, the smartphone will have a 1750 mAh battery; however, this battery is removable and can be replaced with a new battery if the user chooses.

While some users may be looking forward to buying some of the more popular and powerful smartphones in the Xperia lineup such as the Xperia Z1 or the Xperia Z Ultra, the Xperia M is a worthy device in its own right, and is far less expensive. With the Xperia M Dual, users will be able to buy a modest phone for a modest price and still get many of the advantages that come with the Xperia line.
