Lamar Odom's First Pic Since Hospitalization: How is He Now?

Lamar Odom spent Christmas with his two lovely children.

The basketball community and the rest of the world was stunned last Oct. 13, 2015 when NBA Basketball legend Lamar was found in a Nevada brothel nearly lifeless as a result of a drug overdose. There were no official photos of the 36-year-old NBA star released to the public -- until last Thursday, Dec. 31, 2015 when his son and namesake Lamar Odom Jr, posted the first picture of Lamar on Instagram along with him and his sister Destiny, 17.

"Christmas with my pops," Odom Jr captioned on Instagram. "Here's to 2016. Blessed," he added. See the snap here.

Lamar's ex and mother of Odom Jr and Destiny, Liza Morales, can also be seen posing behind the basketball player. Lamar and Morales has been partners for ten years and had another son they named Jayden. However, the baby died at six months from a sudden infant death syndrome last 2006. The NBA player is still married to estranged wife Khloe Kardashian -- a "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" reality star and daughter to Kris Jenner.

When he was hospitalized last October 2015, Morales and her children flew out from New York to be with Lamar. The sports icon was in a coma for three days and suffered from multiple strokes in addition to a kidney failure, physical and cognitive problems.

According to The Hollywood Life, it was not expected that the NBA player will be able to walk or speak again. News about Lamar last October also feared that he would not survive the drug overdose.

 "The TRUTH is God is good, all the time," Morales tweeted at the time. "Continued prayers for my children and their father. Thank you for the support and well wishes," she added.

In other news, 31-year-old Kardashian has been making all the medical decisions for estranged husband Lamar as his legal wife given that their divorce papers has not yet been finalized. "This year has been absolutely horrible, but it's almost done," Kardashian said in December on her app. "I'm just praying that 2016 will be better. It has to be."

The former Los Angeles Lakers player is reported to be still recovering at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles. A statement by an insider to E! News claimed that Kardashian footed the airplane fare to fly out Lamar's children on December 29 so they could spend time with their father.
