Lamar Odom Responds to Khloe Kardashian's 'I Love You'
If fans are to see a silver lining in the situation that Lamar Odom is in at present, it will be that the NBA player loves his estranged wife dearly despite being separated; even despite the dark reality that led him to his coma. Jim Harrick, a father figure to Odom, shared a touching scene that took place between the estranged couple while Odom is fighting for life in a hospital in Las Vegas.
Speaking with USA Today on Oct. 17, Harrick said that Odom woke up and responded to "I love you" uttered by Khloe Kardashian. "She reached down and said 'you know I Love you' and he kind of nodded. Three or four days after being scared to death and fearing the worst, that is a little hopt, a little progress. She texted me that," Harrick told USA Today via a phone interview.
The couple's divorce has not yet been finalized. And if Harrick could only have his way, he wants for Odom to get back together with his wife. Harrick believes that marrying Kardashian is the best thing that has ever happened to Odom.
A source close to the Kardashian family has also revealed to E! Online that when Odom saw Kardashian by his side his first words were "hey, baby" and gave her a thumbs up. The source added that Odom can now open his eyes and is able to communicate little by little. The source said the basketball player can now breath on his own without the assistance from breathing tubes.
Meanwhile, ESPN reported that a representative of the Kardashian family confirmed that the reality TV official app will not be posting content while they still attend to Odom. The representative was answering question regarding a statement posted on the app. The statement reads: "As a family, we've decided to hold off on publishing content across our apps while we continue t support and pray for Lamar."
ESPN also reported that Odom is already conscious and breathing on his own as confirmed by his family representative. However, he is still wearing a breathing mask and remains in critical condition. He had to remain sedated as doctors are still observing if his organs can already function properly.
A statement from Janeam Mercer, Odom's aunt who also helped his mother in raising him, thanks those who showed support. She said prayers are coming from around the world. "His complete healing is paramount and our primary focus," the statement reads.
