NBA Finals 2014 Game 4 Score, Recap & Live Stream: Heat vs. Spurs Highlights
The San Antonio Spurs are on the cusp of winning the 2014 NBA crown after routing the Miami Heat to lead the series 3-1 after a Game 4 victory. The final score was 107-86.
Tim Duncan also made history again by playing the most minutes in the NBA playoffs. The two-time defending champions are against the ropes and have to overcome the odds by winning on the road. Miami fans were booing their own team throughout much of the game, which further removed James's and the others' spirits.
22-year-old Kawhi Leonard exploded again by scoring 20 points and grabbing 14 rebounds, according to an ESPN report.
LeBron James was not actually bad, scoring 28 points and getting eight rebounds for the Heat. Dwyane Wade, on the other hand, was simply cold, shooting 1 out of 10 in three quarters. He only had 10 points. In a report by National Post, Chris Bosh struggled with 12 points. He shot five out of 11. During the first half, the Heat only shot 35%. The Heat tried to cut the lead to 13 points but the Spurs again increased the gap to 81-57.
Tony Parker of the Spurs said, "They're the two-time champs, they're a great team, and there is still one more game. We have to win one more game." Tim Duncan scored 10 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Tony Parker scored 19 points.
In an article by USA Today, James said, "They smashed us. Two straight home games got off to awful starts. They came in and were much better than us in these last two games. It's just that simple." James added, "Our heads are a little down right now... It's just human nature, but we still have to go out and play on Sunday."
The odds are against the Miami Heat now, since no NBA team has ever won the series after trailing 3-1 in the finals. The last time that the Heat trailed by two games was in 2011 during the finals series against the Dallas Mavericks. Dallas won that year. Game 5 will be played in San Antonio on June 15.
Spurs coach Popovich commended his guys, "I'm pleased that they performed as well as they did while we've been in Miami, and that's about as far as it goes. Now we've got to go back home and play as well or better."
