The Cleveland Cavaliers is deemed to be the luckiest team in the NBA, as far as lottery drafts are concerned.

In a report by Sports Illustrated, the Cavs had only a 1.7% chance to win the No. 1 pick in the annual lottery draw of the 2014 NBA draft. However, the odds still turned in its favor, giving the franchise the rights to the top pick for the second consecutive year. In a span of only four years, Cleveland had the No. 1 pick privilege three times.

In 2011, they picked Kyrie Irving, a guard from Duke. In 2013, they picked Anthony Bennett, a UNLV forward. It was not also very long ago, in 2003, when they also used their top pick to acquire high school superstar LeBron James. NBA experts suggest that the team will not waste their luck, and would probably pick Jabari Parker, also a forward from Duke; Joel Embiid, a center from Kansas; or Andrew Wiggins, a forward also from Kansas. Similar to the 2003 NBA draft, experts expect that this year's class comprises a lot of young talents.

The Cavaliers moved from No. 9 to the No. 1 pick. David Griffin, General Manager of the Cavs, said, "It's a really defining moment for us." The pick would help improve the team's status after talks that Kyrie Irving is looking to transfer after the Cavs finished with a 33-49 record during the 2013-2014 regular season and failed to join the playoffs for the fourth consecutive time, writes ABC News.
