NBA Scores, Game Schedule & Results: Lebron's 32 Points Fails to Give Miami Heat Victory Over New York Knicks
Despite Lebron James dropping 32 points in a brilliant game long performance, the New York Knicks still beat the reigning NBA champions Miami Heat, 102 to 92. In a report from CNNSI, this was the third straight win for the resurgent Knicks.
The game saw Knicks scorers dominate, with Carmelo Anthony scoring 29 points while center Andrea Bargnani chipping in 19. After the game, Bargnani quipped, "You can tell it's different than a month ago. Our faces are different, our body language is different."
Another Knick had a good game, namely guard Raymond Felton, who scored 13 points and had 14 assists. In an interview on ESPN, Felton echoed Bargnani's comemnts, "It wasn't going to last all season like that. We were just going through a slump, now I feel like we're out of it."
For Miami, aside from James, guard Dwayne Wade scored 23 but missed six all important free throws. The Heat did not get much production from Chris Bosh, who only had six points while starters Mario Chalmers and Shane Battier because of ailments or injuries.
One of the sidelights of the game was the game long benching of mercurial Knick guard J.R. Smith. Knicks coach Mike Woodson was asked about it, he responded, "I'm not going to comment on JR. Let's talk about the game."
According to the Sacramento Bee, when asked about being benched, Smith retorted, "I didn't know anything about it."
James said of the game, "They played great. They made timely shots. I thought Raymon played great defense and did a good job of putting those guys in a position to succeed."
The Knicks looked like a different team at Madison Square Garden, passing the ball crisply and have five players reach double figures in points, even without All Star center Tyson Chandler. According to a Yahoo Sports report, this was the fourth win in five games for the Gotham City squad after a dismal 9 win 21 loss start for the 2014 to 2015 season.
