Dwayne Wade Baby Mama News Update: NBA Star Confirms Love Child Reports; Says 'On a Break' with Fiancée During Conception

The euphoria of their recently announced engagement was clouded by the recent reports that Dwayne Wade had fathered a child "during a break" in his relationship with Gabrielle Union. In a recent report from Us Magazine, the Miami Heat guard acknowledged the month old boy as his son. 

He said in an statement during a press conference, "I had a time, a part in our break, in our pain and our hurt, a blessing came out of it in my life, having a son that was born healthy. So, I'm moving on," reports Sun Sentinel,

TMZ identified the mother of the love child as Aja Metoyer. She gave birth to a son named Xavier last November 10. The report also listed a chronology of events and dates to see if the engaged couple was really on a break at the time Xavier was conceived, but it didn't seem like it.

Gabrielle Union has since shared her thoughts on the matter through Twitter, as reported by HollywoodLife.com. She tweeted, "Workin on ME has gotten MUCH further than obsessing/criticizing/judging other folks. U never lose when you work on yourself."

In a report from People, Union indicated that she knew of the child before she said "yes" to his proposal. She has kept mum on the topic, opting to keep a level head rather than going all "bad boys" on her fiancé. Wade also added, "Celebrity relationships [are] very hard. This was a big year for us and our relationship from the standpoint of she was shooting her show 'Being Mary Jane' going most of the year. I was dealing with my injuries, trying to win a championship, so we kinda took a step back."

He added, "We supported each other... but at the end we came back together and [said], 'Listen, we want to continue this, we want to continue to try to get better each day' and she's been with me, and I've been with her all summer long. We're going strong now."
