The Detroit Pistons had beaten reigning NBA champions Miami Heat, 107-97, stopping the Heat's winning streak at ten games, reports CNNSI.com

The hands down best player of the game was Pistons newly acquired guard Brandon Jennings, who made a three point basket despite heavy coverage from the Miami guards. He then stole the ball from NBA MVP LeBron James at the 2:09 mark of the fourth quarter to seal the win.

The Pistons offense was humming all night, with seven players scoring double figures as they played defense to outlast the vaunted Miami comeback run in the fourth quarter, noted The Guardian.

Kyle Singler scored 18 points for the Pistons, who built an 18 point lead only to see it go down to three in the fourth quarter with a Miami rally. Andre Drummond grabbed 18 rebounds, as Greg Monroe and Rodney Stuckey netted 16 apiece.

In the post game interview, as reported by CBS SportsPistons coach Maurice Cheeks said, "We had a lot of good performances from a lot of people. Then we just held our composure because we knew that at some poit they'd make a run. Brandon made that Big 3 and we were able to hold on. When Brandon hit that big 3, it kind of settled us down a little bit."

Those big plays by Jennings cooled down the rallying Heat during the game. According to Miami reserve guard Norris Cole, "Just the way the game goes. He made a big shot, Just got to tip your hat." Cole was covering Jennings on the play called by LeBron James as "the dagger from 90 feet."

James and Michael Beasley topscored for the visiting Heat with 23 points apiece. The team played without All Star guard Dwayne Wade, who sat out his fourth game this season with a sore knee.
