Lebron James, Chris Paul Face Off; LA Clippers vs Miami Heat Preview, Live Stream Info, And Where To Watch
The Los Angeles Clippers (3-2) and the Miami Heat (3-2) will go up against each other for the first time in the 2013-14 NBA season on Thursday night, November 9th, at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, Florida.
The Clippers will look to bounce back from a disappointing loss to the Orlando Magic on Thursday, but it will be easier said than done against the defending world champions.
Blake Griffin and the Clippers are averaging 113.2 points per game as a team -- the best in the NBA -- but they have been struggling on the defensive end of the floor, allowing their opponents to score a league-worst 109.6 points per game.
In their 98-90 loss to the Magic, the Clippers struggled to find their usual offensive rhythm, shooting just 37.9 percent from the field, including a measly 3-for-19 clip from the three-point region.
Their defense was also abused by the Magic's young center Nikola Vucevic, who finished with a game-high 30 points, while also collecting 21 huge rebounds. The Clippers also allowed the Magic to shoot 48.8 percent from the field.
Chris Paul, who is averaging 24.8 points and 12.6 assists this season, was slowed down by the Magic, limited to just 18 points on 8-for-19 shooting from the field before fouling out of the game.
Meanwhile, the back-to-back champions Heat will look to pick up from where they left off in their previous game. The Heat scored an impressive 104-95 road win over the Toronto Raptors on Tuesday, led by the all-around performance of reigning and four-time Most Valuable Player LeBron James.
James finished with a game-high 35 points to go along with eight rebounds and eight assists, while Dwyane Wade added 20 points on 9-for-19 shooting to go along with six rebounds and five assists.
Chris Bosh, who is averaging 19.8 points and 6.8 rebounds this season, missed their game against the Raptors due to personal reasons, but the All-Star power forward is expected to play on Thursday night.
Head-to-Head Matchup
The Heat and the Clippers split their two-game season series last year with each team winning on their respective home floors. The Clippers scored a 107-100 win on Nov. 15th, 2012 at the Staples Center, while the Heat evened the season series with a 111-89 blowout win on February 9 in Miami.
