It's the battle of MVP's as LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and the NBA world champion Miami Heat will kick off their season against the returning Derrick Rose and Eastern Conference rival Chicago Bulls on Tuesday, 8 p.m, at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, Fla.

Lords of the Rings

LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh will have a chance to relish their 2013-14 NBA Championship run by accepting their rings and raising the second championship banner - third in franchise history - since they decided to join forces in South Beach in the summer of 2010.

James, who averaged 26.8 points, 8.0 rebounds and 7.3 assists on his way to claiming his fourth NBA MVP award, said getting their rewards after a grueling championship run will be nice, but his focus is locked on bringing yet another title to Miami.

"After we get our rings, that's last year," James told the press ahead of Tuesday's showdown with the Bulls via ESPN. "We did some special things last year and this is an opportunity for us to look back at it one more time, but I definitely won't lose sight of what's in front of me."

The Heat open this season with the hope of becoming the third team to reach the NBA Finals at least four consecutive times. The Boston Celtics (1957-66, 1984-87) and Los Angeles Lakers (1982-1985) are the first two franchises to accomplish that feat.

Seeing Red

The Bulls are back in the championship hunt after playing one full season without their star player Derrick Rose. With DRose feeling and playing better than ever, Chicago is considered a threat to the Heat's dynasty in a very loaded Eastern Conference race.

"Our No. 1 goal is winning the title," Rose told ESPN. "We're not worried about anything else. We're not worried about what people say about us or what's going on on the outside. We're just worried about the Bulls and how good we get every day."

Rose averaged 20.7 points per game to help the Bulls win all eight games during the preseason. However, the former MVP is also aware that things will start to get tougher from there.

"If anything, we accomplished what we wanted to accomplish, which was to go out there and try to win every game," Rose told the Bulls' official website via ESPN. "We know we have important games coming up. We're just trying to get prepared for that."
