Joakim Noah Of The Chicago Bulls Out Again Due To Recurring Groin Injury, Derrick Rose Shows Deadly Form
Derrick Rose is back but injury problems continue to haunt the Chicago Bulls as Joakim Noah was shut down anew due to a strained groin.
In an interview with Nick Friedell of ESPN Chicago, Bulls coach Tim Thibodeau announced that Noah will be sidelined for at least a week after experiencing soreness after his first preseason game on Wednesday against the Detroit Pistons.
"We're going to shut Jo down," Thibodeau said. "He's got a little soreness, so we want to make sure we get that taken care of. Probably another week or so, but we just want to make sure he's completely healthy before we move forward."
Noah, on the other hand, said that he is confident that he will be back in action soon although he is unsure whether or not he will be available in their final preseason game on October 25th against the Denver Nuggets. But the 28-year-old center is confident that he will play in their season-opener against the Miami Heat on October 29th.
"It flared up on me so just need a little more time," Noah said. "We got a little time, I want to be out there, we're looking good. I got to be healthy. It sucks especially this early in the season, but it is what it is. I'll just get back as soon as I can."
Meanwhile, Derrick Rose had his best game since returning from a long rehab from an ACL injury, scoring 32 points to go along with nine assists and four rebounds in their 103-98 win over the Indiana Pacers at the United Center.
Playing in his fourth preseason game, the 25-year-old superstar guard showed his deadly form, scoring eight points in the final three minutes to lead the Bulls to their fifth win in as many games.
Rose, who shot 9-for-15 from the field including an impressive 4-for-7 clip from the three-point range, said on Thursday that he feels more explosive compared to his explosiveness before sustaining the ACL injury that forced him to miss the entire 2012-13 NBA season.
