NBA Trade Rumors 2013: LaMarcus Aldridge To Draw Interest From Houston Rockets, Cleveland Cavaliers Before Trade Deadline
Trade rumors might have toned down a bit for Portland Trail Blazers power forward LaMarcus Aldridge, but that doesn't mean the two-time All-Star is untouchable come the mid-season trade deadline. According to reports, there are five teams that possess enough assets to trade for the talented big man.
In his last article on Bleacher Report, Fromal highly believes Aldridge will be eventually moved before next season's trade deadline. If this happens, Fromal expects the Chicago Bulls, Cleveland Cavaliers, Detroit Pistons, Houston Rockets, and the Golden State Warriors to be the teams pursuing for Aldridge.
With the return of Derrick Rose, the Bulls are going to need a legitimate scorer on the shaded lane. Apparently, Aldridge fits the requirement because of his ability to score efficiently inside and knock down mid-range jumpers. Getting Aldridge might need the Bulls to sacrifice Carlos Boozer and Jimmy Butler, who emerged into a solid young player last season.
The Cavaliers are also in the running for Aldridge. The Cavs will likely relinquish their rights over Dion Waiters, Tristan Thompson and Alonzo Gee, but they will gain a true All-Star forward in Aldridge, who could fit nicely with Kyrie Irving and a potentially healthy Andrew Bynum.
The Pistons are expected to make their run for Aldridge, too. Pistons President of Basketball Operations Joe Dumars might need to give away Greg Monroe and the expiring contracts of Rodney Stuckey and Charlie Villanueva in exchange for the Blazers big man.
Of course, the Rockets are out to make their pursuit of another NBA super team. A core group of James Harden, Dwight Howard and Aldridge looks very much formidable but they also have to surrender Omer Asik, Jeremy Lin, and Donatas Motiejunas.
Finally, the young and loaded Warriors might be the most ideal landing spot for Aldridge because of the team's ability to compensate the Blazers with All-Star caliber assets such as David Lee and Harrison Barnes.
No matter what happens next, Aldridge will continue to be the subject of trade rumors in the coming months.
