NBA Trade News: Updates on Brandon Jennings, Mike Miller and Mo Williams
The Milwaukee Bucks are trying hard to find a trade partner for disgruntled point guard Brandon Jennings, but no team has shown a great deal of interest in taking the shot-happy guard, who's demanding $11 million to $12 million in annual salary.
The Bucks already placed a qualifying offer worth $4.5 million, but Hoopsworld reporter Steve Kyler indicated the ball club is now contemplating giving Jennings a contract worth $8 million annually to keep him with the team.
Meanwhile, the Houston Rockets have emerged as another contender to sign free-agent forward Mike Miller. Waved by the Heat via an amnesty provision last week, Miller is drawing interest from three NBA teams: the Rockets, the Memphis Grizzlies and the Oklahoma City Thunder.
There are reports Grizzlies point guard Mike Conley is working to get the sweet-shooting forward back to Memphis, and even invited him to play golf.
Free agent point guard Mo Williams is still looking for a multi-year deal that would give him a solid paycheck. According to sources, if his initial plan doesn't materialize, the former All-Star guard might sign a one-year minimum deal but only for an NBA title contender.
The veteran point guard has expressed his interest in joining championship-caliber teams like the San Antonio Spurs or the Miami Heat.
Williams is keeping all his options open this summer after an injury-marred season with the Utah Jazz. The 30-year old Williams averaged 12.9 points and 6.2 assists for the Jazz, but a serious thumb injury prevented him from helping the ball club get the final playoff berth in the Western Conference last season.
