NBA News 2013: Andrew Wiggins Wants To Play One-on-One With Kobe Bryant (Video)

Future No.1 overall pick Andrew Wiggins made a bold statement recently when he challenged Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant to play one-on-one basketball.

Considered as the most highly-anticipated prospect since LeBron James, the 18-year old Wiggins collected another major hardware in his high-school career after has was named the 2013 Gatorade National Player of the Year.

In an interview with ESNews, Wiggins said he will continue to work hard and take his game to another level for him to be worthy of being the no.1 overall pick in next year's draft. The Canadian hoops prodigy admits he's pressured, but at the same time, he is motivated to reach his full potential.

"There's always pressure when it comes to stuff like that, but pressure is not always bad." Wiggins said. "I think it's more of a good pressure, it motivates me to fulfill things I am capable of doing."

When asked who he wants to play one-on-one right now, Wiggins did not have second thoughts on his answer, saying it's Bryant because he's the closest thing to Michael Jordan.

Wiggins added that Philadelphia 76ers guard Allen Iverson remains his favorite NBA player ever while he also idolizes current All-Stars like Kevin Durant, LeBron James, and Bryant.

The 6-foot-8, 205-pound Wiggins is set to make his college basketball debut less than two months from now when the Kansas Jayhawks play the South Dakota Coyotes on September 7.
