NBA Draft 2013 Rumors: Cleveland Cavaliers, Milwaukee Bucks Chasing Paul Pierce; Kevin Garnett No Longer Clippers-Bound

The Cleveland Cavaliers and the Milwaukee Bucks have expressed their interest to get Boston Celtics veteran Paul Pierce via trade, multiple sources reported on Sunday.

The Cavaliers, who hold the first overall pick in the upcoming NBA Draft, reportedly offered two second-round picks in exchange for Pierce. The Celtics small forward still averaged 18.6 points and 6.3 rebounds during 2012-2013 season, but his tenure in Boston could end very soon following the departure of head coach Doc Rivers.

Rivers was traded to the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday, ending weeks of speculation about the future of the proud Celtics franchise.

Aside from the Cavaliers, the Bucks are also willing to trade some assets for the service of Pierce, who still has a year left from his current deal. With Monta Ellis opting out of his final year of deal and possibly leaving Milwaukee for good, the Bucks direly need the scoring ability and leadership of the 10-time NBA All-Star.

On the other hand, Kevin Garnett might not end up with the Clippers after all. Sources indicated the NBA will reject any forthcoming trade proposal involving Garnett and the Clippers.

The Clippers offered DeAndre Jordan and Caron Butler for the gritty Celtics veteran but the league already squashed that proposal before it was even submitted for approval.

With this development, the Celtics might looks for another trade partner - likely a title contender - to send Garnett and lucrative deals in exchange for an asset or a promising young player.

The Los Angeles Lakers, San Antonio Spurs and Minnesota Timberwolves appear to be interested to gamble for Garnett, who averaged 14.8 points and 7.8 rebounds per game during the 2012-2013 season.

To reiterate: All indications are NBA WILL approve LAC deal for Doc Rivers. But all indications also are any KG-to-Clips trade gets blocked
