James, who had missed a game-tying three-pointer in Game 6 and facing criticism about not being "clutch", James iced the series for the Heat with 27.9 seconds left, nailing a long jumper to extend the lead to 92-88, holding off the Spurs to win his second title.

Horry was left open, with 9.3 seconds left, as the Pistons doubled down on Manu Ginóbili in the corner. The Argentinian guard managed to get a bounce-pass to Horry who sealed the game for the Spurs, giving San Antonio a three games to two lead and eventually winning the title in seven games, winning their third NBA title.

After Hall of Famer Dave DeBusschere put the Knicks up ahead by two points, with three seconds left in Game 3, a frustrated Wilt Chamberlain threw the inbound pass to the man also known as "The Logo", Jerry West. As Chamberlain was heading to the locker room, West heaved a miracle 60-foot jumper that tied the game 102-102 (the three-point line did not exist in this era of NBA basketball). Despite West's heroics, the Lakers lost the game and ended up losing the series to New York in seven games.

Down a point to their bitter rivals, the Boston Celtics, with 0:07 seconds on the clock, Johnson took the inbound pass at the wing, driving past forward Kevin McHale, into the paint, before lofting a sky-hook that towered over Hall of Famers McHale, center Robert Parrish, and forward Larry Bird to take a key victory on the road. The Lakers would go on to beat the Celtics four games to two, making it the last time Johnson would face Bird in the NBA Finals.

Facing the elimination, Karl "The Mailman" Malone kicked a pass out to point guard John Stockton to put the Jazz up 86-83. After cutting the lead down to one with a quick layup to the hole, Jordan, with 37.1 seconds left, showed his Hall of Fame defensive skills by stealing the ball from Malone's hands, and put the game in hands, beating his defender, Byron Russell, off the dribble and draining the game-winning shot before riding off into the sunset.
