The clash between the Spurs and the Heat may be making NBA front news, but a former 76ers star just managed to get himself in the spotlight again.

Allen Iverson has been accused of "abducting" his children after he failed to return them to his ex-wife Tawanna Iverson after a five-day trip to Charlotte, NC.

It was only recently that Allen and Tawanna finalized their divorced status and legal custody arrangements. According to the settlement, Tawanna retains sole custody of all five children, ranging from three to sixteen years old.

The former 76ers star, on the other hand, was granted stringent visitation rights by the judge who ruled over the couple's custody and divorce case, noting that his track record of "not know[ing] how to manage the children...little interest in learning to manage the children...has actually, at times, been a hindrance to their spiritual and emotional growth and development."

So when Iverson took his children for a trip and didn;'t give them back on time, Tawana had to call the police.

According to Philly.com, A.I. took his children on a vacation trip to Charlotte from May 22 to 26. However, the former NBA superstar has still yet to return the children to their mother.

Tawanna reportedly contacted Allen to meet up and return the children but the former NBA superstar was a no-show, noted Sporting News.

TMZ now reports that Tawanna has already filed a legal case against Allen accusing him of abducting the children. While former Mrs. Iverson believes that the kids are currently being kept at a hotel in Georgia, she hopes that a court ruling would force Allen to return the kids to her custody.

This is not the first time that Iverson had troubles related to his children. Allen also allegedly owes $40,000 in child support, consistently missing payments from January of this year while his divorce was being finalized.

Allen Iverson is famous for being a Sixers guard from 1996 to 2006. He also played for the Detroit Pistons, the Denver Nuggets and the Memphis Grizzlies, as well as the Turkish basketball team Besiktas Cola Turka. He has since been trying to make a comeback to the NBA, but had shot down an offer from the Dallas Mavericks,  according to SportingNews.
