Lakers Killer: 2-year Old Hoops Prodigy Too Hot To Handle For Purple-and-Gold Stars Kobe Bryant, Shaquille O'Neal (Watch Video)
Set aside the first-round beating they got at the hands of the San Antonio Spurs this year, and you still have a very successful NBA franchise in the Los Angeles Lakers. From their 16 Championship banners to countless individual and team awards, the Lakers have become synonymous to winning over the years.
That's not the case for purple-and-gold this week, when a previously unknown hoops prodigy dominated one Lakers great after another.
Lakers fans, meet your worst nightmare - 2-year old Titus Ashby.
Titus, who rose to fame after a video showing him making all kinds of shots with relative ease went viral on the Internet, has been on fire over these past few days following another exhibition of his stupendous shooting display on National TV.
In a segment on the Jimmy Kimmel Show dubbed 'the Clash of the Titus,' the two-year old boy is so far sporting an undefeated slate after beating not one, not two, but three Lakers in a row.
Titus has already victimized some of the best players that ever wore the iconic purple-and-gold jersey, namely Shaquille O'Neal, Kobe Bryant and Metta World Peace.
O'Neal, who shot 53 percent from the free-throw line throughout his career, was not match to Titus' superior shooting skills as he ended up without a single bucket in 30 seconds.
Up next was the most prolific scorer in Lakers history: Kobe Bryant. Bryant, still rehabilitating from his Achilles tendon surgery, knocked down four shots in 30 minutes, but Titus tied up the score with still seven seconds left. Though the shootout ended in a deadlock, Bryant knew that Titus was the deserving one.
In the final salvo for this week competition, Jimmy invited the Lakers defensive specialist and in-house psychiatrist Metta World Peace to duke it out Titus, and boy, Metta came out sizzling. The Lakers forward shot six buckets in 30 minutes, which by far the most Titus had ever faced since the start of the ‘Clash of the Titus.’ However, the basketball genius unleashed his inner ‘Larry Bird’ and drained 11 baskets to beat Metta by a mile.
It’s amazing what Titus can do with his hoops at such a very young age. The scary thing is what this boy wonder can do more 20 years from now. For Titus, sky is the limit.
