NBA: Heading Into Finals, Reports Say Tim Duncan Hired Private Eye To Spy On Wife Before Divorce
Heading into the NBA Finals, Tim Duncan, the San Antonio Spurs' NBA star, has his hands full on and off the court these days as his divorce proceedings continue with his soon-to-be ex-wife Amy-proceedings that have taken a reportedly personal and stunning twist.
According to the San Antonio Express, Duncan allegedly hired a private investigator to tail his wife dating back to as far as a year ago. According to the report, Duncan had concerns in the fall regarding his wife and hired someone to follow her.
Amy, who moved out of the couple's house, filed for divorce in March of this year.
Last week, news broke that Duncan, a four-time NBA champion and former league MVP, requested that the divorce proceedings be postponed until after the NBA playoffs are over. With the Spurs in the NBA Finals after sweeping the Memphis Grizzlies in the Western Conference Finals, the playoffs could last until as long as June 20, the date of which Game 7 of the Finals, if necessary, would be held.
Local San Antonio station KSAT confirmed last week that the couple was divorcing.
In addition, the couple--which filed under the initials A.S.D vs. T.D.D, their initials--reportedly has a prenup which Duncan is requesting be enforced. The couple, which have two children together, reportedly met at Wake Forest, where Duncan was a standout star, drafted No.1 in the 1996 NBA Draft by the Spurs, and Amy was a cheerleader.
