Tim Duncan Divorce Spurred By Spurs Forward Hiring Private Investigator To Follow Wife?
Tim Duncan is creating much buzz, but not for his performance on court. The San Antonio Spurs superstar is making headlines for his apparent divorce with wife, Amy. According to reports the two are finally calling it quits after 11 years of marriage.
Over the past weeks, rumors have been circulating of a supposed divorce in the works for the couple. At that time no confirmation has been given, the San Antonio Express-News reports that evidences point to a Tim-Amy fallout.
According to the site, the divorce case filed at the Bexar County District Court filed about two months ago bears the initials of the couple. "A.S.D. vs T.T.D. Tim Duncan's middle name is Theodore," reported Bleacher Report.
The divorce petition also noted that the couple was married on July 21, 2001--the same date of Tim and Amy's wedding. Two children are also caught in between the divorce: a daughter with the initials S.I.D. and a son with the initials W.D.D. Notably, the couple's children, Sydney and Draven, were also born on the dates specified on the divorce papers filed.
However, the most obvious proof that points the case to the NBA star and his wife is a request stating that the legal discovery be postponed until the end of the Spurs' final playoff game.
In an update though, the San Antonio Spurs has already confirmed reports that Duncan and his wife are getting a divorce. The spokesman for team noted, however, that the player will not be making any comment on the issue.
It seems that the shaky relationship already started early last year. According to the report by San Antonio Express-News, the NBA player had suspicions that his wife was cheating on him. Because of this, Duncan had his wife followed by a private investigator, aggravating what was already a problematic marriage. The site also noted that Amy had already left the couple's home last month.
While reports continue to make their rounds online, it seems that Duncan's game isn't affected by the divorce nor the rumors. The Spurs have already swept the Semifinal series against the Memphis Grizzlies and are waiting on the wings for the Eastern champs to face the team in the NBA Finals.
