LeBron James disagrees with Michael Jordan's scouting report on how the Hall of Famer would defend the Miami Heat superstar, if the played in a game against one another.

"That theory is wrong, I guess," James said of his childhood idol's assessment of his game.

Jordan, who says he "studies" James, pointed out to ESPN The Magazine that when James goes to his right, he attacks the rim, and when he goes left, he settles on jumpers.

"So if I have to guard him," Jordan told ESPN's Wright Thompson, "I'm gonna push him left so nine times out of 10, he's gonna shoot a jump shot. If he goes right, he's going to the hole and I can't stop him. So I ain't letting him go right."

James, who plays basketball right-handed but writes with his left, has shown improvement going left. James drove to his left, against guard Indiana guard Paul George, in the closing seconds of Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals, and nailed the left-handed layup that won Miami the game at the buzzer, putting the Heat up 1-0 in their playoff series.

According to Synergy Sports, among 52 players with at least 50 isolation drives to the left, the four-time MVP had the best efficiency in the league. This season, when James went left on isolation plays, he shot 56.3 percent from the floor. When he drove right, James shot 48.5 percent. The data also shows that James drives more to his left (51 percent of the times) than his right (49 percent).

"Frank Walker, my first basketball coach, taught me how to make a left-handed layup. He wouldn't let me dribble the ball until I got the steps down to make a left-handed layup consistently," said James. "We used to do it before practice every day. He always told me I'd be a much better player if I could make shots with both hands."
