NBA News: Dallas Mavericks Plan To Unveil New Uniform In 2015-2016 Season; Fans Encouraged To Submit Designs
The Dallas Mavericks are reportedly planning to bring in a fresh look in their uniform designs, which will come from one of the creation of their fans.
Mavs owner Mark Cuban announced this week that his team is seeking help from their fans to come up with their most creative designs for their new uniform which will be unveiled by the ball club in the 2015-2016 season.
It has been over a decade since the Mavs used their current blue and white jerseys, and now, Cuban apparently wants a new-look Mavs as they take a new chapter in their franchise.
With Dirk Nowitzki's retirement looming, Cuban plans to provide a brand new identity in the upcoming era of Mavs basketball.
"The Mavs are going to re-do our uniforms for the 2015-16 season... if we get a unique and original design. What's the best way to come up with creative ideas ? You ask for them. So we are going to crowd source the design and colors of our uniforms," Mavs owner Mark Cuban said in his blog.
Cuban mentioned in his blog that he's looking for fresh designs, but at the same time, the uniform will stay true to the ball club's Maverick logo.
"You know what an NBA uniform looks like. You know what the Mavs colors are for today and the past. We want some new ideas that stay true to our logo and at least close to our current color schemes. Show us what you got!" added Cuban, who bought the Mavs from H Ross Perot Jr. in 2000 and turned it into one of the most successful franchise in the NBA over the last 10 years.
The Mavs are coming off their worst performance since Cuban took over as the owner, finishing with a 41-41 slate to end their 12-year playoff streak.
