NBA Playoffs 2013 TV Schedule, Bracket, Live Stream For Tuesday, April 23, 2013
While the Chicago Bulls pulled even with the Brooklyn Nets and the L.A. Clippers are now halfway to the semifinals, Game 2 of the first round of the NBA Playoffs will be kicking off for three pivotal series Tuesday.
Monday's action saw two down-to-the-wire finishes in the East and West. At the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., the Chicago Bulls rallied behind their defense and Luol Deng's 15 points as they beat the Brooklyn Nets 90-82 and tied their first round playoff series at one game apiece. And in the Staples Center, All-Star Game MVP Chris Paul had a big night for the Pacific Division champion Clippers, scoring 24 points and nine assists, including a clutch buzzer-beating shot at the end of the game, guarded by Memphis guard Tony Allen, as the Clippers beat the Grizzlies 93-91 to take a 2-0 lead in the series.
On Tuesday, the action will kick off with LeBron James, Dwayne Wade, Chris Bosh and the world champion Miami Heat taking on the East's No.8-seeded Milwaukee Bucks at the American Airlines Arena in Miami. On Sunday, James torched the Bucks with 27 points as the Heat smoked the Bucks 110-87. Brandon Jennings, who claimed that the Bucks could beat the Heat prior to the start of the series, and Monta Ellis will need to step it up big time to carry the Bucks to a win in Miami, where the Heat have a 37-4 record for the season.
Then at historic Madison Square Garden in New York, N.Y., the Atlantic Division champion New York Knicks look to bury their archrival Boston Celtics in a 2-0 hole before the series shifts back to Boston on Friday. The Knicks took the first game in a see-saw 85-78 victory on Saturday behind Carmelo Anthony's 36 points and clutch plays from Kenyon Martin. It has been a big week for the Knicks, with Anthony clinching the NBA scoring title last week and super-sub J.R. Smith grabbing the NBA Sixth Man of the Year award on Monday. But the playoff veteran Celtics still have Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Jeff Green on their side, and can't be counted out yet. Expect a physical battle between both teams.
And out West, the Denver Nuggets clash with the Golden State Warriors, who will have to go without All-Star forward David Lee, who suffered season-ending hip injuries on Saturday when the Nuggets took Game 1 with a thrilling 97-95 victory. Suffering a huge loss, it will be on the shoulders of the multi-talented Warriors guard Stephen Curry to lead the way for the Warriors to climb back into the series, while Ty Lawson and the Nuggets look to take a 2-0 lead in the series when the series heads back to Denver Friday.
