Video Shows Atlanta Hawks Cheerleader Injured On Court
A freak accident on the court Monday in Atlanta ended up with an Atlanta Hawks cheerleader being taken off the court for medical attention.
The cheerleader, whose name was given as only "Kristen," landed on her head Monday during a routine between quarters when her plant foot slipped during a high kick that through her off balance during a Hawks game against the Dallas Mavericks, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution.
The accident caused a brief delay of game between the quarters as EMTs tended to the cheerleader with a stretcher nearby. Kristen was taken to Atlanta Medical Center and released Monday night, team officials told Belge Info.com.
The only cheerleader listed as "Kristen" on the team's website is a Houston native with a twin sister who is a Call of Duty fan and sports a lucky pair of socks to every Hawks game that she goes to. She also works as a full-time pre-Kindergarten teacher and is a fan of Oatmeal Cream Pies.
"Our best wishes are with the cheerleader who had the incident on the court," coach Larry Drew said in his press conference after the game. "She is doing well, from what I'm told. We are hoping that she is OK and are keeping things in perspective."
