Video: Brandon Knight Responds to DeAndre Jordan's Dunk
The Clippers reminded the league and especially Brandon Knight that Lob City can be a harsh place to live.
DeAndre Jordan didn't lead his team in scoring or rebounds, but had a play that put his team and the league on their feet Sunday night at the Staples Center.
The hapless Detroit Pistons came to town and the Clippers made them feel at home with a 129-97 victory, but Jordan made them want to pack their bags just a bit quicker. During the first half, Jordan received an alley-oop pass that left Guard Brandon Knight on his back and a highlight on Sportcenter. The dunk set twitter ablaze and got Jordan's teammates on their feet.
"That was the best dunk of the year and the best I've seen in person," said Blake Griffin.
Best of all, the dunk wasn't in vain as the Clippers led the entire game, capped off with a 26 point first half lead. Jordan's monstrous dunk was part of a 28-12 run that left the Pistons wondering if the season could end tomorrow. Much like Lebron James' documented pre-game dunk show, Chris Paul joked that similar dunks could also be seen in practice.
"That was pretty crazy," said Paul. [The dunk] was almost as good as the one I did in practice the other day." Paul finished the game with 20 points and 14 assists, but he wasn't the only one who had their way with the sorry Pistons. Led by Blake Griffin, the Clippers had seven players in double figures. The loss brought the Pistons record to a pathetic to 23-42.
So how did the victim of the supposed "dunk of the year" respond? With profanity, denial, claims of being hypnotized by Clipper girls or maybe the fact that the 6-foot-3 Knight never had a chance against the 6-foot-11 Jordan?
None of the above...but funny, nonetheless.
Knight went on twitter and said "It wasn't in the scouting reports that the clippers threw lobs lol"
