For a while, it has been rumored that the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 would be unveiled officially sometime in early September. Now, South Korean media has reported that Sept. 4 is the official release date for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, and a wearable device will be unveiled at the same time.
Samsung's follow up to its highly rated Galaxy Note 2, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, has been leaked and rumored for the last few months, as anticipation builds for the official unveiling. Rumors had the date for the official unveiling of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 anywhere from Sept. 4 to Sept. 6. Now, according to Asiae.co.kr, via PhoneArena, it looks like Samsung will try to get a jump on the competition, unveiling the Galaxy Note 3 the day before the IFA2013 consumer device expo begins in Berlin, Germany. Apple is rumored to reveal its new iPhone 5S and/or the rumored low-cost iPhone "lite" later in September.
But that's not all. Along with the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, the South Korean electronic device maker is now rumored to be launching a smartwatch, unofficially called Samsung Gear, on the same day. Again, this may be to preempt Apple and its rumored "iWatch" wearable device, though recent moves by the Cupertino giant suggest that it could be more than a year before their smartwatch is ready for primetime.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is speculated to have a 5.7-inch display, with 1080p resolution and Samsung's favorite AMOLED screen technology. While the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 looks to have a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chip clocked at something like 2.2GHz and 3GB of RAM. Keep in mind that these specs - as well as others - may change depending on the market, because it's rumored that there are several versions of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 in the works.
