There's been all kinds of talk about what kind of display Samsung will utilize in the upcoming Galaxy Note 3, and a new report indicates this decision-making process might end up delaying the Galaxy Note 3's September launch.
According to Asia Economic, Samsung is running into issues concerning the rumored flexible display for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. The report goes on to state these problems could force Samsung to either delay the release of the phablet, or switch to another type of display, presumably an older, easier-to-manufacture one. Samsung has not commented on the matter, so be sure to take it with a grain of salt.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is expected to be revealed around the 2013 IFA electronics trade show, which runs from Sept. 6-11. There have been rumblings in the technosphere that Samsung will be holding one of its famous "Samsung Unpacked" events Sept. 4, at which the phablet should be unveiled in all its glory. Still others state that there might not be a separate event, and that Samsung will simply show off the Galaxy Note 3 on the IFA floor. Either way, it's give or take a couple days - that's if the display problems mentioned above don't dramatically alter the production schedule.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 should then begin releasing worldwide, and land in the United States sometime around October or November.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is tipped to feature a 5.7-inch 1080p Full HD display, either a Samsung Exynos 5 Octa eight-core processor or a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset, 3GB RAM, and the latest versions of Android and the electronic S Pen stylus at the time of its release. The Galaxy Note 3 should also be packing a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera. Pricing should fall in line with previous Galaxy Note models, probably around $299 for a carrier-tied variant with a two-year contract.
