It's only a little over a month away from being revealed, but that hasn't stopped the Galaxy Note 3 from leaking itself through a variety of insiders, tipsters, and tech junkies. The latest one reveals the phablet's specs.
The leak, out of Korea, doesn't necessarily state anything new about the device. According to the report, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will use a 5.7-inch display instead of the larger 5.99-inch screen that was initially rumored. Expect the screen to be 1080p Full HD, and underneath it will lie a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with the capability to connect to LTE-A (the next step in LTE, with connection speeds of up to 150Mbps), and 3GB of RAM. The report also states that photo and video editing has been streamlined and that the device will run Android 4.3.
Pretty much everything falls in line with what we've heard so far about the Galaxy Note 3. The only missing specs of major importance are the camera modules, which should be 13 megapixels and 2 megapixels for the rear and front-facing ones respectively.
The Galaxy Note 3 should be revealed in Berlin, around the time period that the 2013 IFA trade show will take place. There's still doubt as to whether Samsung will hold its own event or not, but unless some rumored display production issues delay the launch, expect the Galaxy Note 3 to rear its head in early September. The phablet should then become available in the United States a couple of months later, in time for the busy fall holiday shopping season.
