UFC President Dana White has assured MMA fans that a 'Super Fight' will be next in line if Anderson Silva manages to defend his middleweight title for the 11th time against contender Chris Weidman on Saturday in Las Vegas, Nevada.
White said a superfight featuring Silva against either light middleweight champion Jon Jones or welterweight champ Goerge St-Pierre will be his top priority.
"He's on board to fight either one of them," White told MMAjunkie.com on Monday.
MMA followers believe Jones will be an ideal opponent for Silva because the Brazilian already fought in the light middleweight division several times. Moreover, George St-Pierre isn't interested in fighting Silva and will likely end his career as a welterweight.
However, White stressed Silva must first win his upcoming fight with Weidman, who's certainly not a push-over.
Weidman is considered to be the last test for Silva in the middleweight division, boasting an undefeated 9-0 slate with three knockouts and three submissions.
The UFC executive added he will book a rematch right away in case Weidman pulls off a victory against the 38-year old Silva.
"I'd do the rematch the next fight," White added. "Guy hasn't lost in the UFC ever, has beat everybody. He loses that fight, he's the guy for a rematch if he wants it."
Silva is coming off another sensational victory against Stephan Bonnar at UFC 153, knocking out the former light heavyweight contender last October. Meanwhile, Weidman will be fighting for the first time since knocking out Mark Munoz in the second round of their UFC middleweight battle 11 months ago.
UFC 162 will also feature a featherweight clash between Frankie Edgar and Charles Oliveira; middleweight showdown between Tim Kennedy and Roger Gracie; middleweights Mark Munoz and Tim Boetsch, and featherweights Cub Swanson and Dennis Silver will also face in the octagon.
