Samsung's rumored Samsung Galaxy Gear was leaked first in designs for a patent filing. Now those designs have been turned into very nice looking concept art.

When Samsung hinted that the Galaxy Note 3 was to be "unpacked" at its upcoming event on September 4, rumors began flying that the new phablet would also be sharing the stage at the event with a new wearable computing gadget. Called Samsung Gear or Galaxy Gear (for now at least, until the big unveil confirms the name), it's rumored to be a smartwatch. Here's what it might look like.

A British coupon clipping website called Voucher Codes Pro has created concept illustrations of what could be the Samsung Galaxy Gear smartwatch, according to the Los Angeles Times. The concept photos were taken off of design drawings of the new smartwatch, uncovered in South Korea in a patent filing. Other than those patent designs, there really hasn't been many leaks about the Galaxy Gear, so this is the closest we may get to an advanced look before the unveil.

One of the cool and most-talked-about features that the rumored Samsung Galaxy Gear will have is a curved, flexible display. Voucher Codes Pro took the flexible watch gadget in the patent designs and added color and a simulated on screen contacts list. The result looks really cool - though we can't know what parts of the concept, if any, are going to show up in the actual wearable gadget.

If Samsung unveils this smartwatch at the Samsung Unpacked 2013 Episode 2, in Berlin on September 4, it will certainly get a jump on the competition. While Sony has two iterations of a smartwatch out already, and there's always the Pebble smartwatch, no leading mobile company has come up with a smartwatch. Apple is rumored to be working on the iWatch, but it's not expected to unveil a device anytime soon.

Meanwhile, at the Samsung Unpacked 2013 event, the highly anticipated Galaxy Note 3 is very likely to be unveiled as well. The follow-up to the Galaxy Note 2, the new Galaxy Note 3 is speculated to have a 1080p Full High Definition 5.7-inch display (though some put it at an even 6 inches), a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, clocked at something around 2.2GHz, and 3GB of RAM.

When Sony unveiled the humongous 6.4-inch phablet, the Xperia Z Ultra, it also touted two smaller devices that could be tethered to the device. One accessory device was a small handset, which some Xperia Z Ultra users might find less embarrassing to take calls on because the phablet is so big, and the other was the Smartwatch SW 2. It could be that Samsung is planning on a similar move - to give the Galaxy Note 3 an accessory that enables easier access to the features people use the most.

But these are still rumors, leaks, and concepts, so we'll just have to wait and see when Samsung reveals what it's been working on this September 4, right before the IFA 2013 Consumer Electronics show, in Berlin. Stay tuned to Latinos Post Tech for more updates on these two highly-anticipated devices.
