For a while now, rumors had posited the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 would be unveiled by the South Korean electronics manufacturer sometime in early September. Then, a leak by South Korean media narrowed the rumors down to Sept. 4. Now, with a cheeky invite sent out by Samsung's blog, it looks like the Galaxy Note 3 will indeed meet the world on that date.
Samsung's blog, Samsung Tomorrow, sent out the invitation to the event, called "Samsung Unpacked 2013 Episode 2" with the above image. The text stated that the event would happen at 1 p.m. EST Sept. 4, and then stated with a wink and a smile, "Note the date."
So, unless this is a case of the most coincidental use of language ever, the Galaxy Note 3 is almost certainly the device that will be unveiled during the Sept. 4 event. The IBTimes notes that the company used puns previously to hint at device unveilings, like the "Be Ready 4" campaign for the Samsung Galaxy S4 event, called "Samsung Unpacked 2013: Episode 1." You can watch the live stream at Samsung Mobile's YouTube channel, when the time comes.
Clearly, the company intends the Galaxy Note 3 to become the second in its one-two punch, calling the unveil "Episode 2," to compliment the S4's unveiling. Both devices from Samsung's previous generation - the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 - recently tied for the top two places on the American Consumer Satisfaction Index (ASCI). Samsung is probably hoping the S4 and Note 3 share a similar popularity.
While the Galaxy Note 3 will be officially unveiled on Sept. 4, there are some rumored specs available early. The Galaxy Note 3 is rumored to have a 5.7-inch Full HD 1080p display and a 13-megapixel rear camera with Xenon Flash. It will likely have a 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor.
