DmC:Devil May Cry is Capcom's next major title and the details on the game are slowly being revealed.

IGN recently posted two videos for the new title which include the introduction to the game (seen above) and a sequence that explains Dante's origin. The opening sequence shows the young Dante sleeping in his trailer while the news on TV showcases a mysterious terrorist. The trailer is depicted as messy and indicates the careless, unstable lifestyle of the protagonist. Suddenly a knock on the door jolts Dante out of his reverie and the voice of a woman tells him that he must run. Afterward, Dante is faced with a demon that takes him to limbo and the sequence showcases the naked Dante putting on his clothes while flying in midair.

The second sequence is of even greater interest as it shows Dante and his brother Vergil talking about their origin. According to the scene the brothers' father Sparda was a demon and he was the lieutenant of the ruthless demon king Mundus. Sparda fell in love with Eva, an angel, and in doing so betrayed Mundus. The two eloped and gave birth to Vergil and Dante. Vergil reveals that as offspring of a demon and angel, they are nephilim and are the only ones capable of killing a demon. When Mundus heard of the betrayal, he killed Eva and imprisoned Sparda for eternity. Vergil then explains that Mundus thought that only one child was born. Though Vergil never reveals it in this scene, prior production notes have indicated that Mundus is after Dante. At the end of their conversation, Dante gets dragged back into limbo as he does at the end of the first video, implying that enemies will transport him there when they are ready for a fight. At the end of the video, Dante is confronted by a chainsaw wielding demon reminiscent of the chainsaw zombies in Resident Evil 4.

The title is slated for a January 15, 2013 release on the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 with a PC release set for the 25th of January.
