The promoters of "Game of Thrones" really know how to pique fan interest. Their latest poster for the upcoming season of the hit series show the much talked about Jon Snow, albeit with a splash of blood for emphasis.

"The art, released Monday, highlights a bloody Snow, who died at the end of Season 5, and promises an April premiere date," Mashable noted.

Some fans have expressed relief that the show will be returning in April, which is pretty much within the usual timeframe of GOT's season premiere. There had been speculations that the HBO series' season 6 broadcast may be delayed to May.

After the shock of Snow's death in the last episode of season 5, it appears fans of the character may be appeased with another appearance by the man, played by Kit Harington. However, this doesn't come as a surprise, as numerous rumors of him returning in the upcoming season had spread like wildfire even before the teaser poster was unveiled.

The actor had been spotted at the GOT set in Northern Ireland, fully costumed. He also was still sporting the character's signature look off the set and after season 5 ended, even though HBO president Michael Lombardo had insisted he's dead. Even co-star Maisie Williams and the actor himself said that he's dead, although Harington later threw fans off-balance a bit when he said that GOT will still "remain a part of my life for a while," as noted by MailOnline.

"Of course it is also possible the star was on set to film flashback scenes, but this new poster from HBO seems to hint that he will be returning in the new season," the British publication added.

Additionally, the Lord Commander of the Night Watch had been seen shooting scenes near "a woman who could have been Carice van Houten, who plays The Red Witch Lady Melisandre - who many fans have theorized will bring Jon Snow back to life following his brutal stabbing."

With the release of the Snow poster, it appears the speculations about the character will continue at fever pitch.

For those wondering what Snow may be up to in the next season, the costume he wore during that Belfast set sighting may provide a clue. And if you're not into spoilers, you probably should stop reading right now.

"Jon is wearing Stark armor. What does this mean for season six?" Tech Insider wondered.

"First, it signals the end of his time with the Night's Watch," the news portal said. "Brothers of the Night's Watch are required to wear black from head to toe, abandoning their house colors. Clearly Jon is no longer bound to these rules."

"If we had to guess, being stabbed repeatedly by his sworn brothers may have disenfranchised him," it added.
