What's better than having one villain in a film? Adding another one, of course!

The sequel, or rather a prequel, to "Snow White and the Huntsman" includes a new heroine and a new villain, while retaining those of the original film, albeit without Kristen Stewart. The film's premise, as the first teaser clip of the movie shows, appears to pit two protagonists against two baddies.

"The clip reveals Charlize Theron's evil Queen Ravenna - vanquished with the help of Kristen Stewart's Snow White in the first film - being resurrected by her ice queen sister Freya, played by Emily Blunt," MailOnline noted. "The trailer reveals it is Freya who trained Hemsworth and newcomer Jessica Chastain as children for her army of lethal huntsmen (a name that applies even to the female ranks)."

The trailer also reveals that Hemsworth and Chastain's characters shared a special bond since their youth. However, this was not looked on with favor by Freya, who could be seen conjuring an ice wall to separate the two.

"Blunt can then be seen making a pretty impressive arrival into Theron's vacated kingdom on the back of a polar bear, where she uses the power of the magic mirror to bring her big sister back from the dead," the British publication went on. "Taking form in molten swirls of her beloved gold - and looking for all the world like one of her J'adore ads - Charlize returns to her throne with a chilling: 'We have much to do little sister'."

It is obvious from the start that the film has acting heavyweights for the leads, with the trio of Chastain, Blunt, and Theron providing compelling presence on the flick. It's also worth noting that the leads consist of a female majority - a fact that may earn raves from feminists.

The second installment was said to have been originally planned with Rupert Sanders, who helmed the first film. However, after the controversy stirred by photos revealing him cheating on his wife with Stewart, his return to the director's chair became murky and was finally scrapped.

The plot of the upcoming film, which will arrive in theaters April 22 next year, was officially described as the following, according to USA Today:

"Long before the evil Queen Ravenna (Theron) was thought vanquished by Snow White's blade, she watched silently as her sister, Freya (Blunt), suffered a heartbreaking betrayal and fled their kingdom. With Freya's ability to freeze any enemy, the young ice queen has spent decades in a remote wintry palace raising a legion of deadly huntsmen-including Eric (Hemsworth) and warrior Sara (Chastain)-only to find that her prized two defied her one demand: Forever harden your hearts to love."
