"The Voice" Top 12 results are in. While the show took a surprising turn with a change in the rules of elimination, it doesn't exactly mean good news for all the contestants.

"The Voice" live show last week had been a fierce battle for all. From 24 singers, only 12 contestants remained. Meanwhile, this week's elimination involved only one person, However, it doesn't provide much relief for contestants, according to E Online.

The first regular live performances in "The Voice" sees two bottom contestants singing to get in the Top 11, and since it's Season 9, Twitter was the judge.

For "The Voice" Season 9, a new tweak to the format meant that only one contestant is going home instead of the usual two. The recurring weeks would follow the new change in the rules. However, once Top 9 week on December 8 comes, 5 contestants will be eliminated all at once in a single episode. That will leave "The Voice" Season 9 viewers with only 4 contestants to choose from.

In addition to that new tweak, the sing-off will only have two contestants fighting neck to neck instead of three. Meanwhile, the "Instant Save" gimmick remains.

The two singers who had to battle in the Top 12 of "The Voice" Season 9 are Mark Hood of Team Pharrell and Korin Bukowski of Team Gwen, according to Yahoo! News.

Yahoo noted that Tuesday's instant save should have been Mark's moment since the Dallas native is described as a superb showman, not to mention his vocals are one of Season 9's bests. However, for some reason, he went with the song, "Signed, Sealed, Delivered." While he brought much-needed energy to the song, he could have slain it if he had chosen a modern song and won twitter.

"You bared your spirit for the whole world to see," his coach, Pharrell Williams, said following the performance.

Meanwhile, Korin Bukowski chose a somewhat rather old song as well with Norah Jones' "Don't Know Why." While the rendition was enjoyable, Yahoo described it as being "sleepy and wimpy."

"That was my favorite performance you've ever done," Coach Gwen Stefani told Bukowski.

In the end, Bukowski won.
