Colin Farrell may be joining the DC Universe. According to multiple reports, Warner Bros. is eyeing him to be John Constantine in "Justice League Dark."

"Justice League Dark" is "Justice League's" "moody, supernatural little brother," noted Screen Rant. It has become DC's most problematic projects, having been under development for years.

Apparently, Guillermo del Toro was supposed to direct the film, however, because of delays, del Toro dropped out and went for other projects. When del Toro left, it seemed like hope was lost, especially since he wrote the original script for "Justice League Dark," Screen Rant reported.

Fortunately, New Line Cinema has since made the film one of its top priorities, and an indication of that is making good casting choices.

Latino-Review first reported that "True Detective" star Collin Farrell is one of the actors eyed to play Constantine, who is known to be one of lead characters in "Justice League Dark."

Constantine is set to appear alongside other "Justice League Dark" characters including Deadman, Zatanna, Swamp Thing and Etrigan the Demon. Madama Xanadu is also rumored to star in the film.

According to the LR report, another actor rumored to be a choice for the role of Constantine is "Star Wars'" Ewan McGregor, but at this point, Farrell reportedly sounds more appealing for the studios.

If Farrell does get cast as Constantine, it appears the 39-year-old wouldn't have a hard time convincing audiences that he's fit for the role. As of the current moment, Farrell is a character in the "Harry Potter" spinoff movie, "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them." He also has past experience in fantasy films such as 2009's "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus" and 2014's "Winter's Tale."

According to Cinema Blend, "Justice League Dark" would be Farrell's second comic book role if he get the role of Constantine. The previous comic book character that he portrayed was Bullseye in 2003's "Daredevil."

Other actors rumored to be eyed for "Justice League Dark" are Ron Perlman (Swamp Thing) and Monica Belluci (Madame Xanadu). Warner Bros. is reportedly in search of a "comedic presence" for Deadman, while a hispanic/black actress is wanted to play the role of Zatanna. As for Etrigan, the LR article reported that either McGregor or Farrell are being sought, but whoever does not get the role will still be cast as Jason Blood, the human counterpart of Etrigan.

This latest "Justice League Dark" rumor are still mere speculations, since Latino Review did not have any source for its claims. However, LR has reportedly been right about previous reports on movie casting choices, so the Farrell report may still be possible.

Production for "Justice League Dark" is rumored to start in 2016, while its release date has yet to be released.
